Tips on Falling Asleep

Many of us have one time or another have problems falling asleep. Millions of Americans suffer from Sleeping Disorders each year. One of the most common sleeping disorders is called Insomnia. Insomnia is a sleeping disorder in which the sufferer is unable to either fall asleep in a timely manner or unable to get a full night of refreshing sleep.

Many doctors advise that the minimal amount of sleep is seven hours for adults. If you’re not getting at least seven hours of sleep per night you may experience negative consequences such as your body feeling sluggish and lethargic. You may also be more irritable and unable to focus either at work or school. If you are suffering from a sleep disorder such as Insomnia here are some tips on getting a full nights rest.

• Many people that suffer from Insomnia have stress and anxiety. It is important not to worry at night. By worrying you only cause your self to stay up longer.

• You should avoid caffeine and stimulants in the evening.

• Do not drink alcohol to fall asleep. Alcohol does not allow your body to get a full refreshing nights sleep

• Come up with a sleep routine. You need to wind down before you sleep. A nice comfortable routine can help you accomplish this. You may want to read a book or listen to relaxing music right before bedtime.

If you still continue to have problems, consult a physician for proper diagnosis and treatment.
