Write a Great Sales Letter

If you’re looking to do business whether by email or by post, you need to perfect the art of writing a great sales letter. Let’s face it, you only get one chance to make a first impression and in sales it better be a good one or you will not have a sale. Here are some tips on writing an effective sales letter.

The first thing that a prospective buyer is going to see is the title, so make it snappy. Get their attention, but don’t make it weird. Many people go a little overboard in the hopes of gaining attention, but they get the wrong attention and the rest of the letter is not looked at.

You don’t want to make your sales letter to long, just enough to give the consumer enough information and tell them how to either gain more information or buy the product. Nobody likes to read a 10 page sales letter. It is also important that the letter is written grammatically correct and does not include spelling errors. If you can’t spell a word the right way they will think you and your product are incompetent as well.

Make sure that contact information is easily found and available on your letter. Many consumers get frustrated easily when they don’t see contact information and they may think you and your product is a scam.

If you are selling your product in the letter make sure you explain the product that you are selling. Is there enough information on the product, does it sound appealing. Show your product in the best light possible. Never lie or exaggerate. This is easily perceived by most consumers and will be disregarded immediately.

So if you want to sell a product through the mail whether online or off, follow these tips and hopefully you will see your sales.
