Inviting Your Web Site Visitors to Stay at Your Site Longer

If you’re building a web site and would like to have the visitors that visit your site stay for a while, then make sure your site is clean, comfortable and not distracting. Many people are afraid that a visitor will only be at their site for a few seconds so they throw everything at them all at once. And while it is true that many people only visit sites for a few seconds, they may have been put off by information overload. Here are a few tips for a clean simple profitable site.

Too many advertisements at once will turn off your customer. Nothing says get me out of here then twenty flashing boxes, and a pop up ad. People come to your site for information first, not necessarily to buy something. SEO is about maximizing profit, but it is important to allow the person to look around and browse before bombarding them with ads for stuff they don’t necessarily want.

Try to keep flash advertisements to a minimum. One flashing banner for a lot of people may be enough. A small dropping pop up ad might very well be a death sentence for a visitor seeking information and not advertisements

When creating a simple web site keep your focus first on content and then on smartly selling them a worthwhile product. Following this simple rule will keep your web site visitors staying at your site for a longer period of time.
